Salvia – Andean Silver Sage – S1

New!

Salvia discolor, often called Andean sage, is a striking and unusual species celebrated for its dramatic foliage-to-flower contrast. Native to the high elevations of Peru, this tender perennial has a relaxed habit with long wands adorned with soft, sage-green leaves, silvery-white beneath, giving the plant a luminous, two-toned effect as the foliage moves in the breeze. From late summer into fall, it produces upright spikes of velvety stems clad in buds that open to reveal black flowers. It pairs beautifully with silver foliage, ornamental grasses, and late-season perennials.
