Alocasia Watsoniana

Alocasia Watsoniana, the classic form, scientifically known as Alocasia longiloba ‘Watsoniana’, sometimes referred to as the big type or large type, is a legendary cultivar from the Alocasia longiloba complex, celebrated for its bold silver venation and historical significance among ornamental aroids. Its elongated, arrowhead-shaped leaves can reach up to 65 cm (25 in) long, displaying a deep green surface with a slightly bullate texture and rich purple undersides. The petioles are elegantly mottled in chocolate tones, giving this plant a dramatic, architectural presence. Compared to other Alocasia Watsoniana forms, the Classic showcases more refined silver veining and a softer contrast, making it an essential specimen for collectors of classic Alocasia varieties.
