Penstemon barbatus coccineus

Penstemon barbatus coccineus is a striking, upright perennial bearing tall spires of tubular, scarlet-red flowers held above narrow green foliage from early to mid-summer. A favourite with pollinators, particularly bees, its vivid blooms bring height, movement and bold colour to mixed borders.

Hardy and reliable, this penstemon copes well with dry conditions once established. Ideal for naturalistic planting schemes, wildlife gardens and cutting, it adds a dramatic vertical accent to any garden.

Summer flowering. Will grow in sun or semi-shade in a well drained position. Height & spread: 45cm-90cm x 30cm (18″-36″ x 12″).
