SAMBUCUS NIGRA ‘LINEARIS’

Sambucus nigra ‘Linearis’ is an extraordinary and highly distinctive cultivar of elder, offering a fine-textured and almost otherworldly look. Its thread-like, twisted leaf segments resemble wiry filaments, giving it a sculptural quality that stands apart from more typical Sambucus forms.

The appearance is so unique its often compared to the effects of herbicide distortion, but this is all-natural and intentional! Though slow to grow, ‘Linearis’ is worth the wait, eventually forming a compact shrub that adds quirky character to borders, architectural planting schemes, or collectors’ gardens. It prefers full sun to partial shade and is fully hardy.
